Refund Policy

Withdrawals, Transfers, and Refunds Policy

To be eligible for a refund, you must notify us at least 14 days before the course start date. Refunds requested within this timeframe will be considered minus a $25.00 administrative fee. Refunds or transfers will not be considered after this 14-day period.

Please note:

  • Your place in the course is confirmed only once full payment has been received.

  • If the course is cancelled due to insufficient enrolment, a full refund will be issued.

  • Refunds and transfers will not be granted for personal health reasons or changes in personal circumstances. However, if a class is postponed, a makeup session will be arranged.

  • No refunds or transfers will be issued after the course has commenced.

  • All refund applications must be submitted in writing within the same calendar year as the original course. Credits cannot be carried over to the following year.

Important Information for Enrolment

As part of your enrolment, we are required to verify your ID (birth certificate, driver’s license, or passport) on or before the first night of class. You can save time by emailing a picture or copy of your ID in advance. This verification is a requirement from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) to ensure continued funding.

  • Your personal details will not be shared with TEC.

  • You must attend a minimum of 80% of the course.

Enrolment Requirements

These courses are funded by the TEC (Tertiary Education Commission) to address students' literacy, numeracy and wellbeing needs. Attendance of at least 80% of classes is required. We also aim to help you learn other valuable and interesting skills, making your learning experience enjoyable and engaging.

The government’s priorities for Adult Community Education (ACE) are to encourage new learners, particularly Māori, Pacific Islanders, and those who feel their initial education was not successful, to re-engage with their learning and enhance their numeracy and literacy skills.

The minimum age requirement is 16 years old.

Please be advised: All individuals aged 16 years must be accompanied by an enrolled adult.

Government Supported Student Courses

These courses are supported by the TEC (Tertiary Education Commission) to assist with any literacy or numeracy needs of students. You must attend 80% of classes. At the same time we hope you will learn other useful and interesting skills and have a lot of fun learning with us.
