Sewing - Beyond the Basics

This class is two hours a week of sewing bliss!  

For those who already know the sewing basics and are further down their sewing journey, this class is a chance to have a couple of hours a week to bring in your projects and have the assistance of an experienced tutor to ask questions and get help with anything you need.  This might be help with following pattern instructions, learning a new skill or technique, adjusting a pattern or a garment to fit or even help with a sewing machine or overlocker. Come and enjoy a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and sew at your own pace.  Let this class be the recharge for your week!

Equipment needed:

*You are welcome to bring in your sewing machine if you would like to sew with that or there are plenty available to use in the classroom.  

*Bring in your current project and all the bits and pieces that are required for it.

About the Tutor

Hi, I'm Jenny Jack and I have been stitching for as long as I can remember!  I studied Fashion Design and have worked in the apparel industry designing, patternmaking and looking after different aspects of manufacturing.  I have also been privileged to be involved in World of Wearable Art shows as a finalist designer of seven different garments.  

I have taught sewing to both teenagers and adults for the past five years and absolutely love helping people progress along their sewing journey.  

PLEASE NOTE - There will be NO class on 31st October 2024 due to FHS Senior Graduation.

This course is supported by the TEC (Tertiary Education Commission) to assist with literacy, numeracy and wellbeing needs of students. You must attend 80% of the class. At the same time we hope you will learn other useful and interesting skills and have a lot of fun learning with us.
