Dive into Paint: Landscapes in Acrylics


Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of acrylic painting and discover the joy of creating stunning landscapes. This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of landscape painting, guiding you through essential knowledge, skills and techniques specific to acrylics.


Throughout the course, you'll explore key concepts such as values, light and shadow, atmospheric perspective and composition ideas; all crucial for adding depth and realism to your scenes. Additionally, you'll delve into color mixing and brushwork techniques, empowering you to bring a variety of beautiful landscapes to life.

Day and Time: Every Thursday, 6:00 pm-8:30 pm

Materials required for the course:

  • Acrylic Paints:(Recommended Brand: Liquitex Basics Acrylics) in the following colours:
  • Titanium White
  •  Burnt Sienna
  •  Burnt Umber
  •  Yellow Ochre
  • Cadmium Yellow (Medium)
  • Cadmium Red (Medium)
  • Alizarin Crimson
  • Ultramarine Blue
  •  Phthalo green 
  • Recommended brushes:(Synthetic brushes, marked for working with acrylic paints)
  • A flat 2 inch brush
  • Filbert (size 12, DAS brand, synthetic)
  • FLAT long handled brushes (size 14 and a size 8, DAS brand, synthetic)
  • Round size 2 (for fine details)
  • (Bring along any other acrylic brushes you may already have)   
  • Canvases (Triple primed): 3 sized (10x12 inches) and 2 canvases sized (12x16 inches)

  • A palette knife (Pebeo 100/112 works well, it’s a long tear drop shaped one)
  • An A-4 pencil sketch book and basic stationery items such as a pencil, eraser, sharpener, ruler

    A large sized flat ceramic plate or a flat palette (neutral or white coloured work best)

  • A jar/container for water
  • A paper towel roll and a rag/old T-shirt
  • An apron for clothes protection
  •  (Optional: A tabletop easel or stand)
